Scouts of America
Building character, leadership, and outdoor skills since 2000
Troop 61 is a dynamic group of young men and women dedicated to learning leadership skills, outdoor adventure, and community service. We meet every Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM and offer a wide range of activities throughout the year.
Our scouts participate in a wide variety of activities throughout the year, from outdoor adventures to community service projects.
Our scouts enjoyed three days of camping at Mountain View State Park. Activities included hiking, pioneering projects, and campfire cooking competitions.
Scouts completed 15 hours of community service maintaining local hiking trails, clearing brush, and installing trail markers.
An amazing week at Camp Resolute where scouts earned merit badges in swimming, archery, wilderness survival, and more!
We celebrated our scouts' achievements with rank advancements and merit badge presentations. Three scouts earned their Eagle rank!
Two-day canoe expedition on the Blue River. Scouts learned paddling techniques, water safety, and practiced Leave No Trace principles.
Our annual fundraiser was a huge success! Scouts raised over $3,000 to fund summer camp and equipment purchases.
Stay up to date with all troop meetings, campouts, and special events.
Important forms, applications, and resources for scouts and parents.
Troop 61 was chartered in 2000 and has been serving the youth of our community for over 25 years. We are sponsored by the Dover-Foxcroft Congregational Church and are proud members of the Katahdin Area Council. Over the years, our troop has produced numerous Eagle Scouts and countless young people who have gone on to become leaders in their communities.
The mission of Troop 61 is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. We achieve this through outdoor adventures, community service, leadership development, and character building activities.
